A discussion by world renowned inventors, innovators, policy makers, scientists, social entrepreneurs, investors and media persons who will discuss how technology influenced connectivity and its effects on shaping up the future of the society that we live in. You will be able to join an engaging discussion on the synergistic relationship between tools that influence the evolution of the society and humanity as we know it. The discussion will also form a foundation for you to actively take part in shaping our future by developing relevant and sustainable technology which will contribute to social and economic development of our nations.

Panelists

Thomas Crampton: One of the world leading experts on social networks.

Thomas Crampton the Asia-Pacific director of 360 Digital Influence for Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. He is a Young Global Leader and is an active participant and Keynote Speaker of the World Economic Forum in Davos. He currently serves on the board of The Foreign Correspondents Club of Hong Kong.

Yair Goldfinger: Inventor of Internet Chat (ICQ) and famous internet entrepreneur.

Yair Goldfinger is a Young Global Leader, CTO and a co-founder of Dotomi.com and is the founder of ICQ, which popularized Internet Based Instant Messaging (IM). ICQ was acquired by AOL in 1998 and he continued working as the CTO to develop Internet based Instant Messaging.

Abdulsalam Haykal: Famous Middle East media entrepreneur and a leader of youth business mentorship

Haykal is the president of the Syrian Young Entrepreneurs Association (SYEA), an NGO formed as part of the reform process in Syria. A Young Global Leader, he is also a founder and trustee in several other organizations including BIDAYA Foundation, an NGO to help disadvantaged young people to become entrepreneurs by providing business mentoring and charitable micro-loans; and Tumuhi, a national college scholarship fund.

Penny Low: Member of Parliament and leader of Social Innovation initiatives in Singapore

Ms. Penny Low is a member of the Parliament of Republic of Singapore. A Young Global Leader, she is leading numerous projects in social innovation and social entrepreneurship. One of the projects she champions is the annual Global Social Innovation Forum, a meeting place for global leaders in Social Innovation where many innovative solutions are discussed and championed for greater social benefit.

Ken Mogi: One of the world’s most famous brain scientists, writer and philosopher.

Ken Mogi is a Brain scientist whose research aim is to solve the so-called mind-brain problem. He teaches at Tokyo Institute of Technology and is the conceiver for the Qualia Movement of Sony Corporation. He is famously known for the “The Professionals” program that he hosts on Japan’s national television, NHK.

Woontack Woo: A leader of Augmented and Virtual Reality

Prof. Woontack Woo is the Director of Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST). He is a leading researcher in implementing ubiquitous virtual reality in smart space, which includes Context-aware Augmented Reaity, 3D Vision, HCI, and Culture Technology. He also serves in the editorial panels of many leading scientific conferences and journals.
