<22 Apr> Update: Mozat and Nokia launched their respective Calls for Proposals.
Giving you access to more than 10M registered users, Mozat is looking for innovative applications for sports related mobile service, social game and mobile infotainment service.
Nokia is looking for mobile lifestyle applications running on Qt and WRT.
To submit an application, complete the submission template and send it to the emails listed below. You may refer to the support scheme information for i.JAM Microfunding.
For Mozat CFP proposals, please indicate [Mozat CFP Application] as subject header and email it to <mda_idmpo_officer1@mda.gov.sg> and cc marketing@mozat.com
For Nokia CFP proposals, please indicate in the subject header [Proposal for Nokia CFP], email it <mda_idmpo_officer1@mda.gov.sg> and cc <nokia.futuremobile@gmail.com>.

Background
As part of FutureMobile Partner Network’s objectives of building a sustainable ecosystem for the mobile sector in the long term, this call for proposal is a joint effort by MDA and the following partners, which will offer various support to successful applicants:-

- ZingMobile (download offerings)
- Microsoft (download offerings)
- QualComm (download offerings)
The objectives of the call are to:
- Promote innovative projects in R&D and commercialization.
- Support Singapore mobile developers to gain direct access to publishing and distribution channels to commercialize their mobile products on various digital platforms.
- Grooming local developers and publishers in developing core competencies in development, publishing and distribution respectively.

Funding Quantum
MDA will be committed to the following for SMEs and established companies:
- Fund up to 50% of project costs for R&D projects
- Fund up to $50,000 for startups
The proposals are assessed and approved by an evaluation panel. The selected projects will then be further evaluated and approved by MDA.
The initiative does not fund projects that are essentially installations, part of live performances, or exhibitions. Funding will also not be provided for the establishments of infrastructure, ongoing administrative costs of organizations, or the establishments of infrastructure, ongoing costs of an organisation’s or individual’s website. Funds will be allocated to each selected applicant upon approval of application.

Making an Application

Applicants will be assessed based on the evidence of their ability and commitment to successfully manage and deliver the project.
Candidates may be required to attend an interview after the closing date.
Selection will be made by a panel of representatives comprising MDA and partners.
Successful applicants will receive an email reply jointly by MDA and the partners on the outcome of their applications within 6 weeks of the closing date or earlier.
Milestone and Deliverables
The deliverable at the end of the project should be a polished mobile application, service and/or content for various digital platforms for publishing and distribution.
Development milestones and deliverables will be determined by MDA and the partner(s). Disbursement of funding will be administered by MDA.
Between milestone submissions, MDA and partners may organize demo/ feedback sessions where team members will be required to showcase and demonstrate work-in-progress builds for play-testing and feedback gathering.
All assets (for example, source code and technology) and copyrights to the completed projects will belong to the applicants. MDA reserve the right to use the projects including the content therein for non-commercial and publicity purposes.
The MDA and partners will require due credits in the website and all promotional & publicity programmes / materials of the completed product as acknowledgement for the support and assistance rendered by the MDA and partners under the initiative.
Applicants are expected to undertake and complete the project upon official approval from panel review.
Termination of Project
In the event that the applicant decides to terminate the project, the applicant would have to compensate MDA and the publishing partners by refunding the entire sum of funds which has been disbursed to applicants at the time of termination.
