The Institute is looking for passionate people to apply, whether you are thinking to launch a new technology company or running a startup that’s less than a couple years old. The Institute supports Founders in a wide range of industries, including digital media, software, biotech, cleantech, ecommerce, advertising, consumer electronics, and the internet. You don’t even need to quit your job to attend the evening sessions. The application takes a few minutes to complete, and applications are processed as they are received.

With the provision of a subsidy approved by Spring Singapore, Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents will only need to pay subsidized course fees of $600 SGD. SGFI will also be giving out between 5 to 8 scholarships to 5 Foreigner Applicants who are accepted worth S$500 per accepted founder.

Early Admissions
Apply by the Early Admissions Deadline of September 25th, 2011.
For a limited time only: apply early and the Institute will waive the $50 SGD Application Fee. There are three additional benefits to applying early. First, you have two chances to be accepted, as your application will be reviewed now, and then once again on the Final Application deadline. Second, if accepted, you have more time to review the course materials and prepare for the program. Third, you are guaranteed a position in the program, which tends to fill up very quickly.

To apply please go http://founderinstitute.com/apply/singapore

It was known as the “Tech Month” in the 1990s. It then grew into the National Science Month (2001 to 2009 – titled Science.01 to Science.09). Now, it has evolved into the Singapore Science Festival, Singapore’s biggest annual science event. This new name better reflects the aims (of the Festival) as a celebration of Science and Technology for everyone. Jointly organised by the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR) and the Science Centre Singapore (SCS), the Singapore Science Festival is an annual national event celebrating the dynamism of science, engineering, technology and biomedicine.

The Science Festival takes on a new focus and theme every year. In 2009, people were encouraged to ask the fundamental questions that drive all scientific enquiries through the theme, “Ask Why”. In 2010, the theme took everyone a step further, discovering the answers to their own questions through simple experiments – to “Know Why”. This year’s theme, the final instalment of the “trilogy”, reminds everyone of what sparks the curiosity in children that make them ask “Why Not?”. This theme is bolstered by more than 100 events, seminars and shows spread over three weeks, to provide an exciting and engaging time for the young and old, for youths, adults and families.

The festival begins with a bang at SunTec Convention Hall 401 from 22 – 28 July with 3 mass carnivals “under one roof”! Join us at

X-periment!,

Kids Science Fest!, and,

Gene Fest!

be entertained by guest performers such as Jim Lenz and The Droidz (from the US), and, …

our own SCS science educators at the “Boiling Hot & Cold! Science Shows” and “The Fmood Show”.

In addition to the above, the festival has a range of workshops and seminars to whet your interests.

The above activities are for all age groups.
